This is the front of the cottage. The windows and doors will be different, but this gives us an idea of size and shape. We hope to side in either stone or stucco with the wood beam trim that is shown.
This will be the left side of the building with a door for deliveries.
This is again the front with the wall removed. When you enter there will be an open staircase in the center of the building. If we can find a cool tree or some old barn beams that will be visible as part of the support system. That's my counter to the right there! The upstairs will be workshop space and storage. My husband has started to get prices on concrete so we can get started. This is really going to happen! It still doesn't feel real.
Here are a few reminder pictures of my original inspirations.
I really love the look of the entrance of this one with the overhang beyond the front door. This is what I want to do with mine. The rafters too, I like how they extend beyond the roof with a bit of a curve. So we will see as we go along what we will be able to add!
Congratulations, Kim! I remember turning in our drawings to the county for approval, and not believing they passed (I drew them) 2 days later! Yay!!! Your cottage is moving from dream-stage into building, and it is going to be a charmer! :)
