Our Greenhouse

A fews years back my husband built me a great greenhouse using old windows.

We just never have seemed to have used it to it's potential.  Heating it was the first issue.  We had a gas heater, but it cost $400 to heat it for just a few months.  Then the fact of getting water in to water the plants.  The pond is very nearby and we could trek buckets of water back and forth, but that got a little old.  So this year we took all the windows out and replaced broken glass and re-glazed them.

We still need to put some trim on to make it esthetically pleasing.

Do you see all that icky snow we still have on the ground!

Anyway, we put a little woodstove in and will hopefully get it hooked up this weekend.  Then we should only have to load it up at night to prevent any frost.  The days seem to warm enough inside.

Then we need to put fans up in those 2 squares on top and figure out an easier way to get water .  But, I do plan on planting some seeds this year.  Perhaps in another 5 or 10 years it will up and running 100%.  I guess that's what happens when you try to overload your plate!

I'll take more pictures when I pretty it up a bit more!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I hope to get down to Hudson, NY to do a little antiquing!

Maybe even do a little sunbathing!  Have to make the most of whatever Mother Nature dishes out.
